These handcrafted coasters are more than just coasters - they're heirloom grade functional art meant to live on your surfaces and be integrated into daily life, rituals, and gatherings. Each piece honors the beauty of the wood it is crafted from, sanded smooth with hand-sanded rounded corners and edges that feel delightful and showcase the heirloom craftsmanship. Finished with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus2C "Pure" to bring out the natural character of the wood and protect it for years and years of usage to come.
Each coaster is crafted from two edge grain pieces of wood, which makes for a beautiful piece that showcases the wood's lines and figure. Each piece is unique and one of a kind, even while some that are made in a set may be similar.
Sapele is a beautiful hardwood that is native to tropical Africa. In fact, it's name comes from the Nigerian city of Sapele, one place where the tree can be found. It can have an almost lustrous, iridescent chatoyance that is mesmerizing. It has a Janka rating of 1360Lbf, making it rather hard and durable.

Sizes are approximations. Please allow final dimensions to be within the state range, minus 3%, with unlimited range on the upside. For example, a 3"x3"x0.6" coaster may come out to 2.999" x 2.999" x .68" or 3.012" x 3.012" x .63". Each piece is handcrafted and works with the wood in its natural form, and there will be slight variations set to set. I try my best to keep sets as consistent coaster to coaster as possible, so that they will stack nicely and aesthetically on your surfaces.
